WinCC OA V3.16, redundancy, expands a WinCC OA Server to include the option of smooth switchover to the hot standby server. For redundant servers, per redundant server pair, two server licenses and two WinCC OA redundancy options are required. WinCC OA facilitates integration of hot standby redundancy. In which case both servers are kept in the system and the currently active server is controlled using internal mechanisms. However, both servers have the same configuration and the same, current project status. In the event of a failure, this facilitates smooth switching-over without loss of data or system control. This increased system reliability is achieved through the use of two identical servers and hot standby redundancy management in the system. Two servers with appropriate identical licenses are required for redundancy commissioning.
